Each issue focuses on a single topic in infectious disease, including clinical microbiology, compromised host infections, gastrointestinal infections, global health, hepatitis, HIV/AIDS, hospital-acquired infections, travel medicine, infection control, bacterial infections, sexually transmitted diseases, urinary tract infections, and viral infections. It is published four times each year in March, June, September, and December.

Submission Instructions

Infectious Disease Clinics Of North America is an invitation-only journal. Submissions are accepted by invitation from the editorial board only. The following article types are accepted:

Review Article

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract A one-paragraph synopsis of 100 words or fewer must be provided. Abstract must be unstructured as a one-paragraph synopsis.
Manuscript Review Articles typically are 4000–6000 words, including the title page, key points, text, references, and figure legends but excluding tables, boxes, and figures. Review Articles must follow the specific template provided in the welcome email. Manuscript must include 3–8 keywords, 3–5 key points, and a disclosure in the manuscript of any use of AI and AI-assisted technologies in the writing process.
References References must use AMA style and be numbered in the order cited in the text. References must be ordered numerically within the text.
Figures & Tables Figures must not be embedded in MS Word documents and each figure must be submitted as a separate file in the Figures tab in EMSS. Figures, tables, boxes, and videos must be numbered consecutively and each figure must include a legend while each table and box must include a title.
