Cover Letter A cover letter is required. Cover letter must explain why the manuscript should be published in Journal of Eating Disorders, address any issues relating to journal policies, declare any potential competing interests, confirm all authors approved the submission, and confirm the content has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 350 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must include the headings Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Manuscript must include a Plain English summary, the sections Background, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, and a Declarations section. Manuscript must include a 100- to 200-word Plain English summary in the main body, three to ten keywords, a Declarations section with all headings retained and marked 'Not applicable' when irrelevant, a list of abbreviations if abbreviations are used, and documentation of any Large Language Model use in the Methods section or a suitable alternative section.
References References must follow Vancouver reference style. Only published or publicly available articles, clinical trial registration records, and abstracts may be cited, unpublished abstracts, unpublished data, and personal communications must not appear in the reference list, journal abbreviations must follow Index Medicus/MEDLINE, and web references must be numbered and listed in full with site title, URL, and access date.
Figures & Tables Tables under one page may be placed within the manuscript, tables longer than one page may be placed at the end with in-text callouts, figure titles and legends must appear in the main manuscript, and figures must be uploaded separately in the order cited. Multi-panel figures must be submitted as a single composite file, tables must not be embedded as figures or spreadsheet files, and only footnotes rather than endnotes are permitted.

The cover letter must explain why the manuscript should be published, address any journal policy issues, declare potential competing interests, confirm all authors approved submission, confirm the work has not been published or submitted elsewhere, and name any special issue if applicable, and authors are encouraged to explain why the case is rare or unusual and its educational or scientific merits.
Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract must not exceed 350 words. The abstract must be structured. The abstract must include separate Background, Case presentation, and Conclusions sections.
Manuscript The manuscript must include Background, Case presentation, Discussion and Conclusions, and a Declarations section with all required subheadings. The manuscript must include three to ten keywords, define abbreviations at first use with a list of abbreviations if used, document any Large Language Model use in the Methods section or another suitable part if no Methods section is available, and specify individual author contributions in an Authors' contributions section.
References References must follow Vancouver style. Only published or in-press articles, clinical trial registration records, abstracts, and publicly available preprints may be cited, unpublished abstracts, unpublished data, and personal communications must not be included in the reference list, journal abbreviations must follow Index Medicus/MEDLINE, and web references must be numbered and given in full with site title, URL, and access date.

Manuscript Manuscript has a recommended limit of 10,000 words excluding figures, tables, and references. Main text must include the subsections Introduction, Definition, Methods of guideline development, and Recommendations, with Diagnosis and Therapy subsections under Recommendations and Background and Recommendation subheadings under each. Manuscript must include a Declarations section with all required subheadings, three to ten keywords, and a Plain English summary of 200 to 300 words in addition to the abstract.
References References must use Vancouver style. Web links and URLs must be cited by reference number in the reference list with the site title, full URL, and access date, and journal abbreviations must follow Index Medicus/MEDLINE.
