Formerly published as Epidemiologia e Psichiatria Sociale, established in 1992 by Michele Tansella, the journal gives priority to highly relevant and innovative research articles and systematic reviews in the areas of public mental health and policy; mental health services, system research; and epidemiological and social psychiatry.

Original Articles

Cover Letter A covering letter is required. Cover letter must provide the full mailing and email contact details of the corresponding author.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 400 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the headings Aims, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Manuscript must not exceed 4000 words excluding the abstract, references, and tables/figures. Manuscript must be divided into headings. Manuscript must include four keywords and the required end-of-text statements before the references, and any use of AI tools to generate text must be declared in a separate acknowledgments section or footnote.
References References must use the Harvard author-date style. Reference list must include all cited sources only, list entries alphabetically, give all authors' names, use full journal titles, and order multiple in-text citations by rising date.
Figures & Tables Original Articles may include no more than six tables and/or figures in total. Tables must be placed on separate sheets after the references section, and figure captions must be provided on separate sheets. Figures and tables must be cited in the text, numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals, and each table and figure must have a caption or title.
