Research Article

Cover Letter Cover letter must disclose any use of AI. Cover letter must disclose any use of AI.
Abstract Research Articles must include an abstract. Abstract must be unstructured and must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be unstructured. Abstract must clearly state the species of animals or species of origin of cells used, and its final few sentences must provide a succinct summary of the main point in 50 words or less.
Manuscript Manuscript must use first-level section headers titled Introduction, Materials and methods, Results, and Discussion, and the Results and Discussion sections must not be combined. Manuscript must include 3 to 5 keywords and the back matter sections Acknowledgments, Author contributions with CRediT details, Funding, Conflicts of interest, and Data availability, and any use of AI must be disclosed in the Methods or Acknowledgements section.
References There is no reference limit. References use standard CSE style with a numerical citation system. References must be numbered in the order they appear in the text, and all authors must be listed for each reference at initial submission.
Figures & Tables There is no limit on tables and figures, but no more than four supplemental figures and/or tables may be included. Tables must be placed at the end of the main text, while figure titles, legends, and captions must be included within the manuscript file and each figure must be submitted as a separate file. Figures and tables must be numbered and cited in sequence in the manuscript, and all images, figures, illustrations, and photographs must include alt text in the main manuscript file directly under the relevant figure legend.

Manuscript Brief Reviews must be four to six journal pages in length, including illustrations and references. The manuscript must include a clearly labeled Conflicts of interest section and a clearly marked Funding section at the end, and any AI use must be disclosed in the Methods or Acknowledgements section.
References References follow standard CSE style with a numerical citation system. References may be in any readable style at submission but must be numbered in the order cited in the text, and only published papers and papers in press may be included in the reference list.
