Original Articles

Cover Letter Cover letter should include a statement that all authors have seen and approved the manuscript. Cover letter must state that all authors have seen and approved the manuscript and disclose any use of AI to help generate content, write code, or analyze data.
Abstract Abstract is required. Abstract must be a single paragraph of 200 words or less. Abstract must be unstructured as a single paragraph. Abstract must state the purpose, findings, and conclusions of the work without using headings.
Manuscript Manuscript text must be organized into Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussion. Include a maximum of seven key words or phrases and disclose any use of AI in the Methods or Acknowledgements section of the manuscript.
References References must follow AMA style. References must be cited in order of appearance using numbers in parentheses, listed at the end of the manuscript, and if a work has more than three authors only the first three should be named followed by et al.
Figures & Tables Each table must be provided as a separate file rather than embedded in the manuscript, and figure legends must appear on a separate manuscript page after the references. Tables must be created in editable Word format, and all images, figures, illustrations, and photographs must include alt text in the main manuscript file directly under the relevant figure legend.

Review Articles

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract Abstract is required for Review Articles. Abstract must be a single paragraph of 200 words or less. Abstract must be unstructured as a single paragraph. Abstract must state the purpose, findings, and conclusions of the work.
Manuscript Manuscript text must be organized under the headings Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussion. Review Articles must include an outline and key references.
References References must follow AMA style (11th edition). References must be cited in the text by number in parentheses in order of appearance, listed at the end of the manuscript, and if a work has more than three authors only the first three should be named followed by et al.
Figures & Tables Tables must not be embedded in the manuscript body and each table must be provided as a separate file, while figure legends must appear on a separate manuscript page after the references. Tables must be created in editable Word format rather than spreadsheet or pasted image format.

References References may include up to 15 entries. Citations must follow AMA style. References must be cited in the text in order of appearance using numbers in parentheses, and if a source has more than three authors only the first three should be listed followed by et al.
Figures & Tables A maximum of either two figures or one figure and one table is permitted. Tables must not be embedded within the manuscript body and each table must be submitted as a separate file. Each table must be provided in editable Word format with a title, column heads, and legend, and each figure must have a legend on a separate manuscript page after the references.
