Sleep Medicine Clinics provides a forum for invited, topical reviews in sleep medicine for clinicians caring for patients with sleep disorders. It is published quarterly in March, June, September, and December, and each issue offers expert reviews on a single topic with figures, diagrams, and tables. Subject areas include anesthesia and critical care, respiratory medicine, disorders of sleep, causes of sleep disturbance, diagnostic techniques, and the science of sleep.

Submission Instructions

Sleep Medicine Clinics is an invitation-only journal. Submissions are accepted by invitation from the editorial board only. The following article types are accepted:

Topical Reviews

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract A one-paragraph synopsis of 100 words or fewer is required on the title page. The synopsis must be 100 words or fewer. The required synopsis must be a one-paragraph unstructured abstract.
Manuscript Topical Reviews are typically 4000-6000 words in length, including the title page, key points, text, references, and figure legends but excluding tables, boxes, and figures. Topical Reviews must follow the specific template provided in the welcome email. The title page must include each author's full name, degree, affiliation, email, and mailing address, identify the corresponding author, include 3-8 keywords and 3-5 key points, and disclose any use of AI or AI-assisted technologies in the writing process in the manuscript.
References References must use AMA style. References must be ordered numerically within the text.
Figures & Tables Each figure and video must be submitted as a separate file in the Figures tab in EMSS and figures must not be embedded in MS Word documents. Figures, tables, boxes, and videos must be numbered consecutively and mentioned in the text, multi-part figures must use uppercase letter labels, every figure and video must include a legend, and every table and box must include a title.
