Original Research Article

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. The cover letter must include the manuscript title, manuscript classification, study type and reporting guideline, notification of any redundant or duplicate publication, and the author's statement that all authors and contributors have agreed to the Authorship Agreement form.
Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract must be structured and 350 words or fewer. Structured. Background and Objectives, Methods, Results, and Discussion.
Manuscript The manuscript must not exceed 4,500 words excluding the abstract, tables, figure legends, appendices, and references. The main manuscript must be organized into Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion sections. The manuscript must include a data access statement, a Methods subsection titled Standard Protocol Approvals, Registrations, and Patient Consents, and research ethics and informed consent information.
References The manuscript must not exceed 50 references. References must correspond with citation numbers and appear in numerical order.
Figures & Tables The manuscript must not exceed 7 figures or tables in total. Figures and tables are included in the manuscript, with titles and legends listed at the end of the manuscript. Each table must be limited to 1 legible manuscript page, and each figure must contain no more than 4 panels unless showing progression.

Review

It must include the manuscript title, manuscript classification, study type and required reporting guideline, notification of any redundant or duplicate publication, and the author's declaration that all authors and contributors have agreed to the Authorship Agreement form.
Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract must not exceed 350 words. The abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript The manuscript must not exceed 5,000 words. Methods should be included if applicable. Reviews must use relevant reporting guidelines and extensions if applicable.
References Reviews must include 60 references. Citations must appear as superscript numbers in numerical order, and the reference list must correspond to citation numbers and appear in numerical order.
Figures & Tables Reviews must not exceed 7 figures or tables in total. Tables and figures must follow the general manuscript requirements, including a maximum of 4 panels per figure and each table limited to 1 legible manuscript page.

References No more than 15 references. AMA. Citations must appear in superscript and in numerical order, and the reference list must correspond with citation numbers and appear in numerical order.
Figures & Tables No more than 3 figures or tables. Null. Null.
