Research Article

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. Cover letter must include the manuscript title, manuscript classification, study type, and the reporting guideline used.
Abstract A structured abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 350 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must include the headings Background and Objectives, Methods, Results, and Discussion, and clinical trials must also include Trial Registration Information when applicable.
Manuscript Manuscript must not exceed 4,500 words excluding the abstract, tables, figure legends, appendices, and references. Manuscript must be organized into Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion, and the Methods section must include subsections titled “Standard Protocol Approvals, Registrations, and Patient Consents” and “Data Availability.” Manuscript must include a data availability statement, a data access statement, disclosure of AI or AI-assisted technology use in the Methods section, and a Classification of Evidence statement for studies evaluating therapeutic interventions, biomarkers, diagnostic accuracy, or disease prognosis.
References References must not exceed 50. References must follow AMA style. Citations must appear in superscript numerical order in the text, and the reference list must correspond to those citation numbers in numerical order.
Figures & Tables Figures and tables combined must not exceed 7. Tables with titles and figure titles and legends must be placed at the end of the manuscript. Figures and tables must be numbered in the order they are mentioned in the text.
