NeuroToxicology publishes peer-reviewed original research on the effects of toxic substances on the nervous system across the lifespan in humans and experimental models. The journal covers occupational and environmental exposures to chemical, physical, biological, pharmacological, and naturally occurring agents, including complex mixtures and exposure events such as air pollution, natural disasters, industrial accidents, and terrorist attacks. It is affiliated with the International Neurotoxicology Association.

Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words.
Manuscript The manuscript must be divided into clearly defined and numbered sections, with subsections numbered in formats such as 1.1, 1.1.1, and 1.1.2. Authors must provide 1 to 7 English keywords, article highlights as a separate editable file with 3 to 5 bullet points, and a generative AI disclosure statement in a new section before the references if AI tools were used.
References References must be cited consistently in text, included in full in the reference list, arranged alphabetically and then chronologically if needed, and journal names must be abbreviated according to LTWA.
Figures & Tables Tables and figures must be supplied as editable or separate files rather than images embedded in the manuscript. Tables must be cited in text, numbered consecutively, and include captions and notes below the table body, while figures must be cited in text, numbered in order, supplied as separate files, and include captions.

The manuscript must be divided into clearly defined and numbered sections, with numbered subsections such as 1.1 and 1.1.1, and the abstract excluded from section numbering. Authors must provide 1 to 7 English keywords, article highlights in a separate editable file with 3 to 5 bullet points, and an AI declaration statement at the end of the manuscript if AI tools were used in preparation.
