Cover Letter A cover letter is required with the submission.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must be no more than 150 words. Abstract must be unstructured with no subheadings.
Manuscript Manuscript must include Introduction and Discussion without subheadings, Results and Methods with subheadings, and all Methods descriptions in the main manuscript file rather than the Supplementary Information. Manuscript must include a Data availability section, an Author contributions statement naming each author by initials, and a Competing Interests statement that declares each author's financial and non-financial interests or states that there are none.
References References should be limited to 60, though this limit is not strictly enforced.
Figures & Tables Figure files may be included in the manuscript or uploaded separately. Figure legends must be no more than 350 words per figure, and multi-panel figures must appear on a single page with panels labeled a), b), c), and so on.

References Around 20 references are recommended as a guide.
