Article

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. Cover letter must provide the corresponding author's affiliation and contact information, briefly explain the importance of the work and its suitability for the journal's diverse readership, confirm originality and exclusive submission, and include a Competing Interests statement.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must be unstructured and must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript Main text must not exceed 4,500 words excluding the abstract, tables/figures, and references. Methods section must provide enough detail to reproduce the experimental procedures and include references. Manuscript must include an Author Contributions statement, a Competing Interests statement before the References section, documentation of any LLM use in the Methods section or another suitable section, and a Data Availability Statement.
References Articles may include a maximum of 80 references. References must follow Vancouver format. References must be cited in the text as numbered citations starting at 1 and listed in numerical order, with all authors named when there are up to six authors and the first six followed by et al. when there are more than six.
Figures & Tables Articles may include a maximum of 6 tables or figures. Figures must be uploaded as separate files rather than embedded in the text, and each table must be uploaded as a separate file. Tables must be editable and clearly numbered in sequence, and composite figures containing more than three individual figures count as two figures.

Tables must be editable, clearly labelled sequentially, and cited in the text in order, and figure legends must be brief, specific, and placed on a separate manuscript page after the References section.

Figures & Tables The manuscript may include a maximum of 4 tables or figures. Figures must be uploaded as separate files rather than embedded in the text, and each table must be uploaded as a separate file. All Materials and Methods must be included in the figure legends.
