Osteoarthritis and Cartilage is the official journal of the Osteoarthritis Research Society International. It is an international, multidisciplinary journal that disseminates information for specialists and practitioners concerned with osteoarthritis and fosters cross-fertilization of findings from clinical and basic sciences including osteoarthritis, cartilage, molecular biology, clinical pharmacology, orthopaedics, rheumatology, physical medicine, biochemistry, epidemiology, and collagens.

A cover letter must be appended to the manuscript.
Abstract
An abstract is required in a separate file with the title page. Abstract must not exceed 350 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must include the headings Objective, Design, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript
Methods must contain details relevant to the conduct and interpretation of the study. Three to six keywords must appear immediately after the abstract, and the manuscript must include author contribution declarations, a competing interest statement, and, if applicable, a Declaration of Generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in the writing process before the references.
References
References must use numbered citations in square brackets in AMA style. References must be numbered in the order of appearance in the text and journal names must be abbreviated according to LTWA.
Figures & Tables
Figures must not be included within the main text file and must be supplied as separate image files, while figure legends and tables must be placed on separate pages at the end of the manuscript. Figures and tables must be cited in the text in order of appearance and numbered using Arabic numerals, with table legends placed above each table and a legend provided for each illustration.

Manuscript
Manuscript must not exceed 4000 words, excluding the title page, abstract, tables, figure legends, acknowledgements, contributions, and references. Manuscript must be organized in this order: Title page, Abstract, Introduction, Method, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgments, Author contributions, Role of the funding source, Conflict of interest, References, Figure legends, each individual Table, and each individual Figure. Immediately after the abstract, 3-6 keywords must be provided, and the manuscript must include author contributions, a role of the funding source section, a competing interest statement, and a Declaration of Generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in the writing process before the references if applicable.
References
References must not exceed 50. References must use AMA style. References must be cited by number in square brackets and listed in numerical order of appearance, with journal names abbreviated according to LTWA.
Figures & Tables
Figures and tables combined must not exceed 8. Figures must not be included within the main text file and must be supplied as separate image files, while figure legends must appear on a separate page at the end of the manuscript and tables must be submitted on separate pages. Figures and tables must be numbered in Arabic numerals, cited in the text in order of appearance, have suggested positions marked in the manuscript, and each illustration must have a legend with table legends placed above each table.
