Pain and Therapy is an international, open access, peer-reviewed rapid publication journal focused on high-quality clinical, observational, real-world, and health outcomes research on the discovery, development, and use of pain therapies and pain-related devices. It also encourages studies related to diagnosis, pharmacoeconomics, public health, quality of life, and patient care, management, and education.

Original Research

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must be no more than 300 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract headings must be Introduction, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
Manuscript Original Research articles should be around 4000 words but are not limited to that length. Main text should use the headings Introduction, Methods, Results, and Conclusion. Manuscript must include 3 to 10 keywords, 4-5 single-sentence key summary points using 'Why carry out this study?' and 'What was learned from the study?', an author contribution statement, a Declarations section before the references, an acknowledgements section before the references, and documentation of any Large Language Model use in the Methods section.
References References must use the Vancouver system. In-text citations must be Arabic numerals in square brackets, references must be listed in the order cited, and references with up to six authors list all authors while those with more than six list the first three followed by et al.
Figures & Tables Tables must be included in the manuscript, figure legends must appear in the manuscript after the references, and each figure must be submitted as a separate file. Figures and tables must be cited in the text and numbered consecutively, figure parts should use lower-case roman letters, tables must have a concise title and be provided in an editable format, and figure legends must explain all abbreviations, colours, and symbols.

Manuscript There is no word limit for Reviews. The title must indicate the format of the Review. The manuscript must include 4–5 single-sentence key summary points, a Declarations section before the references, an author contribution statement describing who had the idea for the article, who performed the literature search and data analysis, and who drafted and/or critically revised the work, and, if applicable, the sentence stating that the article is based on previously conducted studies and contains no new studies with human participants or animals performed by the authors.
References References must use the Vancouver system. References must include only works cited in the text, list up to six authors in full or the first three followed by et al. if there are more than six, use Arabic numerals in square brackets for in-text citations, and be ordered to match the citation sequence in the text.
