Original Research

Cover Letter A separate cover letter is required. Cover letter must include the manuscript title, complete author list, any justification for two first authors, conflict of interest or industry support, confirmation of sole submission, and a clear description of any AI or AI-assisted technology use including the tool name and version, access date, and manufacturer or creator.
Abstract A structured abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be structured with the headings Purpose, Materials and Methods, Results, and Conclusion. Abstract must include the headings Purpose, Materials and Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
Manuscript Manuscript must not exceed 3000 words from Introduction to Discussion. Main body must use the headings Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussion. Manuscript must include up to 3 key points, a 1–2 sentence summary statement, and an abbreviated title page containing a boldface summary statement of no more than 255 characters, with “N/A” used for key points if none apply, and any AI or AI-assisted technology use clearly described in the manuscript.
References References are limited to 35. References must be numbered consecutively in the order first mentioned, use National Library of Medicine journal abbreviations, and include the article DOI when available.
Figures & Tables Manuscript is limited to 6 figures and 4 tables. For new submissions, figures must be combined into one text document in the order cited with legends immediately following the relevant figure, and tables must be embedded one per page in the manuscript document. Figures may have no more than four components per figure, and each table must appear on a separate page with a title and Arabic numeral numbering.

Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract must not exceed 200 words. The abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript The manuscript must not exceed 3000 words from Introduction to Conclusion. The manuscript must include Introduction through Conclusion. The manuscript must include 3 to 5 single-sentence bullet points labeled “Essentials” with page numbers and a single-sentence summary statement summarizing the important findings.
References The manuscript is limited to 50 references. References must be numbered consecutively in the order first mentioned, use National Library of Medicine journal abbreviations, and include DOIs when available.
Figures & Tables The manuscript is limited to 6 figures and 4 tables. For new submissions, figures must be combined into the text document in order with legends immediately following the relevant figure, and tables must be embedded one per page at the end of the text document. Systematic Review

Cover Letter A separate cover letter is required. The cover letter must include the manuscript title, complete author list, any justified co-first authorship explanation, conflict of interest or industry support, confirmation of sole submission, and any AI or AI-assisted technology use with the tool name, version, access date, and creator.
Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract must follow PRISMA-DTA for abstracts. The abstract must provide a PRISMA-DTA-style summary of the review question, methods, results, and conclusions.
Manuscript The title must identify the article as a systematic review and/or meta-analysis of diagnostic test accuracy studies, and the manuscript must include an introduction, explicit objectives, methods, results, discussion, and conclusions addressing diagnostic test accuracy review elements. The manuscript must indicate whether a review protocol exists and where it can be accessed, provide registration information if available, describe any AI or AI-assisted technology use, and include funding and other support with the role of the funders.
References References must be numbered consecutively in the order first mentioned, use National Library of Medicine periodical abbreviations, include the DOI when available, and cite each included study.
Figures & Tables Figures may include no more than four components per figure. For new submissions, figures must be combined into one text document in order of citation with legends immediately following, and tables must be embedded one per page at the end of the text document. The results should ideally include a flow diagram and, for each analysis in each study, ideally a forest plot or receiver operator characteristic plot.

Meta-Analysis

The cover letter must include the manuscript title, complete author list, any explanation for two first authors, any conflict of interest or industry support, confirmation of sole submission, and a description of any AI or AI-assisted technology used.
Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract must follow PRISMA-DTA for abstracts.
Manuscript The title must identify the report as a systematic review and/or meta-analysis of diagnostic test accuracy studies, and the manuscript must cover the review rationale, explicit objectives, protocol or registration information if available, eligibility criteria, search strategy, study selection, data extraction, risk-of-bias assessment, diagnostic accuracy measures, synthesis methods, results of study selection and analyses, discussion of findings and limitations, and conclusions. The manuscript must be submitted as Original Research and must clearly describe any AI or AI-assisted technology used in its preparation.
References References must be numbered consecutively in the order first mentioned, use National Library of Medicine periodical abbreviations, and include article DOIs when available.
Figures & Tables Figures may include no more than four components per figure. For new submissions, figures must be combined into the manuscript text document in order with legends immediately following each figure, and tables must be embedded one per page at the end of the text document.
