Skin Pharmacology and Physiology

Skin Pharmacology and Physiology is a journal of pharmacological and biophysical research focused on topical therapies, original papers, and systematic reviews in pharmacological aspects of the skin and skin physiology. It invites work on epidermal barrier function, exogenous influences on skin functions, non-invasive studies of skin physiology, and regulatory pathways involved in skin penetration of topical formulations through in vivo and in vitro models, as well as systemic treatment studies on epidermal functions, innovative methodology, clinically relevant problems, and cosmetic studies with relevant effects on skin physiology and appropriate controls.

Research Article

Cover Letter Cover letter is required. Cover letter must describe the knowledge gap addressed, explain the research significance and implications, and state how the manuscript fits the journal scope.
Abstract Abstract is required. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the headings Introduction, Methods, Results, and Conclusion and must not include bibliographic references or references to figures or tables.
Manuscript Research Articles are typically 5000 words in length. Manuscript must include the sections Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion. Manuscript must include 3–5 keywords, a statements section before the references containing Statement of Ethics, Conflict of Interest Statement, Funding Sources, Author Contributions, and Data Availability Statement, and any use of generative AI must be declared in the Methods section.
References References must be cited sequentially in the text using Arabic numerals in square brackets and listed numerically in citation order with up to 6 authors before adding et al.
Figures & Tables Research Articles typically include 4 to 8 tables and figures. Manuscript text, each table, and each figure must be submitted as separate files, with figure legends included at the end of the manuscript text. One file must be submitted per figure, including all panels, and tables must be editable Word files rather than images.
