Cover Letter A cover letter is required and must indicate why the manuscript is suitable for publication. The cover letter must state why the manuscript is suitable for publication and disclose any third-party writing or editing assistance or non-author submission made on the authors’ behalf.
Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract must not exceed 300 words. The abstract must be structured. The abstract must use the headings Background, Objectives, Design, Methods, Results, Conclusion, and Registration (if applicable).
Manuscript The manuscript should be up to 6000 words excluding tables, figure legends, and references. The manuscript must state in the Methods section which reporting guidelines were consulted when preparing it. The manuscript must include at least 2 keywords after the abstract, an 'Author Contributions' section after the Acknowledgements, and a 'Statements and Declarations' section at the end of the article.
References References must follow Sage Vancouver style. Every in-text citation must have a corresponding reference list entry and vice versa, with identical spelling and year in matching citations.
Figures & Tables Figures and images must be uploaded, while tables must be editable within Word and not included as images. Figures must be numbered consecutively and include a number and title, and tables must be labeled as tables and include a number and title.
