Submission Instructions

AIDS Patient Care and STDs is an invitation-only journal. Submissions are accepted by invitation from the editorial board only. The following article types are accepted:

Original Article

Cover Letter Cover letters must disclose any third-party writing or editing assistance and must identify any non-author who submits the manuscript on behalf of the authors.
Abstract Original Article manuscripts must include an abstract. The abstract must not exceed 250 words. The abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript Original Article manuscripts have no word limit, but most successful manuscripts do not exceed 3,500 words. Most research papers should be organized as Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusions. The manuscript should include at least 4 keywords after the abstract, an Author Contributions heading after any Acknowledgements, a Statements and Declarations section at the end, and a description of any AI system use in the Materials and Methods section.
References Original Article manuscripts have no limit on the number of references. References must follow Sage Vancouver style. Original Article citations in the text must be listed as numbers in superscript.
Figures & Tables Original Article manuscripts may include a maximum of 10 tables and figures combined. Figures and tables must not be embedded in the main text file. Figures must be numbered consecutively in the order cited and each table must be editable and have a title.

Review Articles

Cover Letter The cover letter must disclose any third-party writing or editing assistance and identify any non-author submitting on behalf of the authors.
Abstract Review Articles must include an abstract. The abstract must not exceed 300 words. The abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript Review Articles should not exceed 9,000 words. The manuscript must include at least 4 keywords after the abstract, an Author Contributions section, a Statements and Declarations section, a conflict of interest statement, a funding statement, and any AI-use disclosure in the Materials and Methods section.
References Review Articles have no limit on the number of references. References must follow Sage Vancouver style. Citations in the text must be presented as superscript numbers, and every in-text citation must correspond to a reference list entry and vice versa.
Figures & Tables Review Articles may include a maximum of 12 tables and figures combined. Figures and tables must not be embedded in the main text, with figures uploaded as individual files and tables placed after the references or uploaded as a single separate Word file. Figures must be numbered consecutively and accompanied by legends, and tables must be editable and have titles.

Manuscript Manuscript must not exceed 1,200 words. Manuscript must be unstructured and must not include text subheadings. The manuscript must include at least 4 keywords and sections headed Author Contributions, Statements and Declarations, conflict of interest, and funding, with 'Not applicable' stated under Statements and Declarations when relevant.
References References must not exceed 12. References must follow Sage Vancouver style. Every in-text citation must have a corresponding reference list entry and vice versa, with identical spelling and year in corresponding citations.
Figures & Tables A maximum of 2 figures and/or tables may be included. Figures and tables must not be embedded in the main text file. Figures must be numbered consecutively and each table must have a title.
