Brief Reports

Cover Letter Cover letter is required. Cover letter must state whether the paper was previously published in any language, including as an abstract, and whether it is currently under consideration elsewhere for publication.
Abstract A structured abstract is required. Abstract must be 100 words or fewer. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the headings Objectives, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Manuscript text must be 1,000 words or fewer excluding the abstract and references. Manuscript may use only main section headings. Manuscript must include three to five keywords, include conflicts of interest information on the title page, disclose funding and any AI tool use in the manuscript, and must not include study highlights.
References References must be 15 or fewer. References must be cited in text in order of appearance, and references with more than three authors must list the first three authors followed by et al.
Figures & Tables Manuscript may include no more than three total tables, figures, or images. Initial submission may include tables, figures, and images embedded in a single manuscript file. Each figure must have a legend and each table must have a title.

References References must be cited in text in order of appearance, and for references with more than three authors only the first three authors should be listed followed by et al.

Initial submissions may include tables and figures embedded in a single submission file, but for revisions figures must be submitted separately and not embedded in the manuscript Word file, and tables must be provided in Word format either separately or at the end of the manuscript. Figures must be cited consecutively and include legends, and tables must be cited consecutively and include titles.
