Digestive and Liver Disease is an international journal of gastroenterology and hepatology and the official journal of AISF, AISP, AIGO, SIGE, SIGENP, and IG-IBD. It publishes basic and clinical research in gastroenterology and hepatology, including original papers, correspondence, editorials, reviews, special articles, position papers, guidelines, progress reports, image of the month, congress proceedings, symposia, and mini-symposia.

Original Papers

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. The cover letter must summarize the strengths of the study.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 200 words. Structured.
Manuscript Original Papers must not exceed 3,500 words, excluding the abstract, references, tables and figures. Introduction/Background/Aims, Materials and methods, Results, Discussion, Appendices, Acknowledgements, References, and Figure legends. The manuscript must include two to four key words.
References Vancouver. References must be numbered consecutively in the order cited in the text, and for works with four or more authors only the first three authors are listed followed by et al.
Figures & Tables Tables must be submitted separately and not included in the text, and illustrations must be submitted as separate files. Tables must be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals and contain only horizontal lines, while illustrations must be numbered in sequence and have legends.

Reviews must not exceed 6 authors, and figures and tables must be numbered consecutively with legends on separate pages; tables require brief self-explanatory titles, while illustrations must have legends and may require separate black-and-white versions for color figures.

Correspondence To The Editor

Figures & Tables Correspondence To The Editor must include only 1 or 2 images and/or 1 or 2 tables. Figures and tables must be submitted as separate files rather than embedded in the text. Illustrations must be numbered in sequence, each table must have a brief self-explanatory title, and legends must be provided for all illustrations.
