Abstract A structured abstract is required. The abstract must be no more than 300 words. The abstract must be structured. The abstract must include the headings Background, Objectives, Design, Methods, Results, Conclusion, and Registration if applicable.
Manuscript The manuscript should be up to 6000 words excluding tables, figure legends, and references. The manuscript must include the abstract between the title and main body and should state in the Methods section which reporting guidelines were consulted. The manuscript must include a plain language summary, at least 2 keywords after the abstract, an Author Contributions section, a Statements and Declarations section with all required subheadings, and the completed reporting guideline checklist as supplementary material.
References There is no limit on references. References must follow Sage Vancouver style. Every in-text citation must have a corresponding reference list entry and vice versa, with identical spelling and year in each matched citation.
Figures & Tables There is no limit on figures and tables. Figures and images must be uploaded. Figures must be numbered consecutively in text order and include a number and title, and tables must be editable text in Word with a number and title.
