Original Article

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract An abstract is required for Original Articles. The abstract must be 250 words or fewer. The abstract must be structured. The abstract must use the headings Objective, Methods, Results, and Conclusion and end with up to 5 MeSH keywords.
Manuscript The manuscript must be limited to 5,000 words. The manuscript must be organized in the following order: Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conflict of interests, Funding information, Author contribution, Acknowledgments (when applicable), References, Tables, Figure legends, and Figures. The manuscript must include funding sources, an Author contribution section using the CRediT system, disclosure of generative AI use in the Methods section with the tool name, version, and prompts where applicable, and up to 5 relevant MeSH keywords at the end of the abstract.
References Original Articles may cite no more than 40 references. References must follow the ICMJE Recommendations. References must be cited in the text using Arabic numerals in brackets, listed in order of citation, list all authors when there are 6 or fewer and the first 6 followed by “et al.” when there are 7 or more, and use Index Medicus journal abbreviations.
Figures & Tables Original Articles may include no more than 5 tables. Tables, figure legends, and figures must be submitted separately from the main text, and figures must be uploaded as separate files. Tables must be created in MS Word on separate double-spaced pages and numbered in order of appearance, and figure legends must be on separate pages, written in full sentences, and explain any symbols, marks, or abbreviations used in the figures.
