An international journal highlighting global variations and localized regional observations in epidemiology and clinical aspects of osteoporosis and other bone diseases. Archives of Osteoporosis is a joint initiative of the International Osteoporosis Foundation and Bone Health & Osteoporosis Foundation. Archives is organized by the same Editors-in-Chief, Associate Editors and Editorial Board as Osteoporosis International; interested authors submit their manuscripts through the Osteoporosis International submission website.

Original Papers

Cover Letter A cover letter should mention the author's interest in submitting to Archives of Osteoporosis. The cover letter should mention the author's interest in submitting to Archives of Osteoporosis.
Abstract Original Papers must include an abstract and a 50-word mini abstract. The main abstract must not exceed 250 words and the mini abstract must not exceed 50 words. The main abstract must be structured. The abstract must use the headings Purpose, Methods, Results, and Conclusion, and the mini abstract must cover brief rationale, main result, and significance of the paper.
Manuscript Original Papers must not exceed 5000 words. Original Papers should include the sections Introduction, Purpose, Methods, Results, Conclusion, and References, and the introduction should end with a stated aim or question preferably expressed as a testable hypothesis. Original Papers must include a 50-word mini abstract, 4 to 6 keywords, a discussion paragraph on study limitations, and documentation of large language model use in the Methods section or another suitable part of the manuscript if applicable.
References Original Papers must not exceed 45 references. Citations must use numbered references in square brackets. Reference list entries must be numbered consecutively, include only cited published or accepted works, and list the first three authors followed by "et al" when there are more than six authors.
Figures & Tables Original Papers are limited to a total of 6 figures and tables. Figures should be submitted in the text where they appear unless size limitations make this impossible, and each table should be placed on a separate page in the text where it is intended to appear. Tables must be submitted as double-spaced editable text rather than graphics and each table must have a title.

Reference list entries must be numbered consecutively, include only cited published or accepted works, and list the first three authors followed by "et al" when there are more than six authors.
Figures & Tables Review Articles must not exceed 10 figures and tables in total. Figures should be submitted in the text where they appear unless size limitations make this impossible, and each table should be placed on a separate page in the text where it is intended to appear. Tables must be submitted as double-spaced editable text and each figure and table must be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals with a descriptive caption or title.
