Biomedicines is an invitation-only journal. Submissions are accepted by invitation from the editorial board only. The following article types are accepted:

Article

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. It must explain the paper’s significance, its fit with the journal scope, note any prior MDPI submissions, state that the manuscript is not under consideration or published elsewhere, confirm that all authors approve the submission, and for an expanded conference paper describe what has changed from the original.
Abstract An abstract is required. Around 250 words. Structured. Background/Objectives, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Research article format with Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussion sections, with optional Conclusions. It must include keywords, a short author contributions paragraph for multi-author papers, and any GenAI use, preregistration codes, and software version information must be disclosed in the Materials and Methods section.
References References must be numbered in order of appearance in the text, including table captions and figure legends, and formatting must be consistent if not using a specific style.
Figures & Tables Figures, schemes, and tables must be inserted into the main text close to their first citation. Figures and tables must use English text and correct symbols, figures and tables must be complete and clearly legible, and numbers of five or more digits must include a comma.

Review

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. The cover letter must explain the paper’s significance, place the findings in context, state why the manuscript fits the journal scope, acknowledge any prior submissions to MDPI journals, confirm that the manuscript is not under consideration elsewhere or published elsewhere, confirm that all authors approve the submission, and note any special circumstances such as translated articles or waived voucher specimen deposition for rare plants.
Abstract An abstract is required. Unstructured.
Manuscript Review manuscripts should include front matter with Title, Author list, Affiliations, Abstract, and Keywords, followed by logically organized literature review sections and back matter with Author Contributions, Acknowledgments, Conflicts of Interest, and References. Review manuscripts should include an author contributions statement, and if the article is a scoping review it should follow PRISMA scoping review guidance with a checklist, flow diagram, methods statement, and registration information if available.

Figures and tables must use SI units where possible, figures should be high quality, figures should contain only English text with complete characters, and tables must have explanatory headings.

Systematic Review

Figures and tables must use SI units where possible, figures should be high quality and preferably at least 600 dpi, tables must have explanatory headings and use at least 8 pt font, and figures should contain only English text with complete, unmasked content.

Three to ten keywords must be added after the abstract, and any generative AI use in text, data, graphics, study design, data collection, analysis, or interpretation must be declared.
