The journal publishes research using engineering principles and methods to advance fundamental knowledge and technological solutions related to cellular and molecular systems, including cell growth, differentiation, migration, signal transduction, protein secretion and transport, gene expression and regulation, and cell-matrix interactions.

Abstract A structured abstract is required. Abstract must be 150 to 250 words, but may be increased to 450 words if the topic dictates. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the headings Purpose, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Manuscript must include a section entitled "Declarations" before the reference list. Manuscript must include 4 to 6 keywords, relevant statements under the heading "Statements and Declarations," documentation of any LLM use in the Methods section or a suitable alternative, a disclosure statement, a citation diversity statement before the references, and declaration headings marked "Not applicable" when irrelevant.
References Citations must use numbered references in square brackets. Reference list entries must be numbered consecutively and include only works cited in the text that have been published or accepted for publication, with DOI links included when available.
Figures & Tables Figures should be submitted within the body of the text, with large figures submitted separately only if file size causes upload problems. Figures and tables must be numbered with Arabic numerals, cited in consecutive numerical order in the text, and accompanied by captions, with figure captions included in the manuscript text file rather than in the figure files.
