Original Article

Cover Letter A cover letter/title page file is required and must be submitted separately. It must state the manuscript type and title, list all authors and affiliations, provide page and word counts, sources of support, meeting presentation details, conflict disclosures, corresponding author contact information, author contributions, and a statement that all authors approved the manuscript and consider it honest work.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 300 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must include the headings Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Main text should be about 5000 words excluding the abstract, references, and tables. Manuscript must be divided into Abstract, Key words, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, References, Tables, and Figure legends. Manuscript must include 3 to 6 keywords.
References Original Articles may include about 30 references. References must follow Vancouver style. References must be numbered consecutively in order of first mention, cited with superscript Arabic numerals after punctuation, list up to 6 authors before et al., use Index Medicus journal abbreviations, and include DOI information when available.
Figures & Tables Tables must be included at the end of the text after the references, figure legends must be placed at the end of the article file, and images must be uploaded separately rather than embedded in the blinded article file. Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals in order of first citation, each table must have a brief title, and figure legends must not exceed 40 words excluding the credit line.

Meta Analysis

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. Review Article

Cover Letter A cover letter or title page file is required. It must state the manuscript type and include the title, all authors’ names and affiliations, page and word counts, sources of support, conflict disclosures, corresponding author contact details, author contributions, and a statement that all authors approved the manuscript.
Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract must be structured, except that Narrative Review abstracts must be a descriptive summary. The structured abstract must use the headings Objective, Data sources, Study selection, Results, and Conclusions, while Narrative Review abstracts must include background, main body, and short conclusion.
Manuscript Review Articles should be about 5000 words excluding tables, references, and abstract, although some may extend to 20000–30000 words. Review Articles must include a section describing the methods used for locating, selecting, extracting, and synthesizing data. Three to six keywords must be provided.
References Review Articles may have about 90 references, although some may include up to 350 references. References must follow Vancouver style. References must be numbered consecutively in order of first mention, cited as superscript Arabic numerals after punctuation, list up to 6 authors before et al, use Index Medicus journal abbreviations, and include available DOI information.
Figures & Tables Tables must be included at the end of the text after the references, figure legends must be included at the end of the article file, and images must be uploaded separately rather than incorporated into the blinded article file. Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals in the order of first citation, each table must have a brief title, and figure legends must be no more than 40 words excluding the credit line.
