Article

Cover Letter A cover letter is required with the submission. The cover letter must explain the paper’s significance and fit with the journal’s scope and include the statement “All authors have approved the manuscript and agree with its submission to Medical Sciences”.
Abstract A structured abstract is required for this article type. The abstract should be around 250 words. The abstract must be structured. The abstract must use the headings Background/Objectives, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript The manuscript must include Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussion, with Conclusions optional. The manuscript must include 3 to 10 keywords, a short author-contributions paragraph for multi-author articles, and declarations of generative AI use in the Materials and Methods and Acknowledgments sections when applicable.
References References may be in any style at submission if used consistently throughout. References must include author names, the journal or book title, the article or chapter title where required, the year, volume and issue where appropriate, and pagination.
Figures & Tables Figures and tables must be inserted in the main text close to their first citation. All figures, schemes, and tables must be numbered in order of appearance, and any special characters or icons in an image must be explained in the caption.

Review

Cover Letter A cover letter is required with the submission. Cover letter must explain the paper's significance, place it in the context of existing work, justify its fit with the journal's scope, and include the statement “All authors have approved the manuscript and agree with its submission to Medical Sciences”.
Abstract An abstract is included as part of the front matter for Review manuscripts.
Manuscript Review manuscripts should comprise front matter of Title, Author list, Affiliations, Abstract, and Keywords, include a logically organized literature review within specific sections and optional subsections, and may include Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Relevant Sections, Discussion, Conclusions, and Future Directions, followed by back matter of Author Contributions, Acknowledgments, Conflicts of Interest, and References. Review and Scoping Review manuscripts must include a statement clarifying who was responsible for the ideation, who performed the literature search and/or data analysis, and who drafted and revised the work, and manuscripts must declare generative AI use when applicable with details in the Materials and Methods and Acknowledgments sections.
References References may be submitted in any citation style as long as formatting is consistent throughout. References must include author names, journal or book title, article or chapter title where required, year of publication, volume and issue where appropriate, and pagination.
