Clinical Investigation

Cover Letter A brief cover letter is required that describes the manuscript, designates the corresponding author, and provides names and e-mail addresses of 3–4 suggested reviewers without conflicts of interest.
Abstract A structured abstract (max 250 words) is required using the subheadings Objectives, Methods, Results, and Discussion, followed by 3–5 key words; references must not be cited and abbreviations should be limited and defined.
Manuscript Manuscript text must be organized under the main headings Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussion, be double spaced throughout, and follow AMA Manual of Style, 9th edition, with no fixed word count but length in line with typical articles in recent issues.
References References must follow AMA (Vancouver) style, cited by number in order of appearance and listed in numbered, double-spaced format at the end; journal titles must be Index Medicus abbreviations, only the first three authors are listed followed by et al., and no maximum reference count is indicated.
Figures & Tables Figures must be submitted as separate, consecutively numbered digital files (not embedded in the text) with legends on a separate page after the references, and tables must each be keyed on a separate sheet, cited and numbered consecutively, and be self-explanatory without duplicating text.
