Abstract
Abstract is required and must be structured and placed before the Introduction section of the main text. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must include the headings Background, Questions/purposes, Patients/Methods, Results, Conclusion, and Level of Evidence.
Manuscript
Main text must be structured with Introduction, Patients/Methods, Results, and Discussion sections.
References
References must be cited in the text by bracketed numbers, listed immediately after the Discussion in numerical sequence alphabetized by first author surname, and include up to 6 authors or the first 3 followed by "et al." if more than 6 authors are listed.
Figures & Tables
All figures and all tables must be uploaded separately as individual files, and figure legends must be provided separately in a section following the references in the manuscript. Figures and tables must be numbered in Arabic numerals and cited in numerical order in the text.
Basic Research Article

Abstract
A structured abstract is required for Basic Research Articles. Abstract must be approximately 250 words or less per section. Abstract must be structured and include the headings Background, Questions/purposes, Patients/Methods, Results, Conclusion, and Clinical Relevance. Abstract must contain the headings Background, Questions/purposes, Patients/Methods, Results, Conclusion, and Clinical Relevance, with 2-4 explicit testable questions in Questions/purposes and 1-sentence answers to each question in Results.
Manuscript
Main text must be structured with Introduction, Patients/Methods, Results, and Discussion sections, with Results using the research questions as subheadings and Discussion including Limitations, a paragraph for each question, and a 1-paragraph Conclusion. Figure legends must be provided separately in a section following the references, and the main text must include callout references to supplementary material in the same manner as figures and tables.
References
References must be cited in text by bracketed numbers, listed immediately after the Discussion in numerical sequence alphabetized by first author surname, include up to 6 authors or the first 3 followed by et al. if more than 6, place older same-authorship papers first, use official PubMed journal abbreviations or the full journal title if not indexed, and exclude abstracts or preprints as citations.
Figures & Tables

Any summary of an individual article longer than 500 words must be placed in an appendix. Main text must include Introduction and Discussion sections, specify all search engines and search criteria, report article identification and exclusion counts, include one results paragraph for each Questions/Purposes item, and use a pre-defined search of two or more databases. Questions/Purposes must state 2-4 explicit testable questions, the abstract Results must give one-sentence answers to each question where appropriate, and figure legends must be provided separately after the references.
