Original Article
Cover Letter
A cover letter should be included with the submission. The cover letter should state that the manuscript has not been published previously and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
Abstract
A structured abstract is required. Abstract must be 250 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract headings must be Introduction, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
Manuscript
Manuscript must not exceed 5,000 words including the abstract but excluding references, tables, and figures. Main text should be divided into Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussion. Manuscript must include 4–7 MeSH keywords.
References
Reference list must include no more than 30 references. References should follow AMA style. References should be numbered consecutively in order of appearance, with in-text citations as Arabic superscript numerals and journal titles abbreviated according to Index Medicus.
Figures & Tables
No more than 8 figures and tables in total are allowed. Figures and tables may be embedded in the manuscript or uploaded separately, and Original Article tables should be included at the end of the manuscript. Tables should be less than 2 pages and approximately 90 rows, with longer tables submitted as supplementary material and referred to in the text.
Review Article
Cover Letter
A cover letter should be included with the submission. The cover letter should state that the manuscript has not been published previously and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
Abstract
An abstract is required. The abstract must be 250 words. The abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript
The manuscript must not exceed 8,000 words excluding references, tables, and figures. The review should briefly summarize the data source, including time restrictions, exact indexing terms used for article retrieval from bibliographic databases, any language or human-subject restrictions, and the criteria used to select studies for detailed review. The manuscript must include 4–7 keywords using MeSH terms.
References
There is no reference limit. References should follow American Medical Association (AMA) style. References should be numbered consecutively in order of appearance, with in-text citations as Arabic superscript numerals and journal titles abbreviated according to Index Medicus.
Figures & Tables
Figures and tables may be embedded in the main manuscript file or uploaded as separate files, and graphical abstract entries should be uploaded during initial submission as a separate file labeled 'Graphical Abstract.' Figures and tables should have legends, and graphical abstract images should fit within 50 mm × 60 mm and remain fully legible at that size.
Letter To The Editor/Reply
Cover Letter
A cover letter should be included with the submission. The cover letter should state that the manuscript has not been published previously and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
Abstract
An abstract is not required for Letter To The Editor/Reply submissions.
Manuscript
Letter To The Editor/Reply submissions must not exceed 700 words.
References
Letter To The Editor/Reply submissions must include no more than 10 references. References should follow American Medical Association (AMA) style. References should be numbered consecutively in the order of appearance and cited in the text using Arabic superscript numerals.
Figures & Tables
Figures and tables may be embedded in the main manuscript file or provided as separate files. Figures and tables should have legends and be numbered consecutively in the order they are cited in the text.
Brief Report
Cover Letter
A cover letter should be included with the submission. The cover letter should state that the manuscript has not been published previously and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
Abstract
A structured abstract is required. The abstract must be structured.
Manuscript
The manuscript must not exceed 1,200 words including the abstract but excluding references, tables, and figures. The manuscript should contain the sections abstract, introduction, methods, results, and conclusions. A graphical abstract should be uploaded during initial submission as a Graphical Abstract file.
References
The manuscript must include no more than 20 references. References should follow AMA style. References should be numbered consecutively in order of appearance, cited in the text with Arabic superscript numerals, and journal titles should be abbreviated according to Index Medicus.
