Review Articles

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. Cover letter must include the paper title, a brief summary of the main point, a statement that all authors have reviewed and agree to the journal's Publication Ethics policies, and disclosure of any AI-assisted technologies used in the research, writing, or presentation of the manuscript.
Abstract An abstract is required.
Manuscript Review Articles should be no longer than 8,000 words, although longer manuscripts will be considered. Review Articles must include an introduction outlining the main theme, brief subheadings, and an outline of important unresolved questions. The manuscript must acknowledge any AI-assisted technologies used in the research, writing, or presentation in the acknowledgments section.
References Review Articles may include up to 100 references. References must be numbered consecutively in order of first citation using square-bracket citations, with all authors listed by initials and last names except that articles with eleven or more authors list the first ten followed by 'et al.'.
Figures & Tables Review Articles may include up to six figures and/or tables. Initial submission should include figures and tables within the single main manuscript file if possible.

Research Articles

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. The cover letter must include the paper title, a brief summary of the main point, a statement that all authors have reviewed and agree to the publication ethics policies, author names and email addresses with one corresponding author designated, and disclosure of any AI-assisted technologies used in the research study or manuscript writing or presentation.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must be no more than 250 words. The abstract structure type is not specified beyond inclusion of an abstract.
Manuscript Manuscript should be under 15,000 words. Body text must include Title, Authors and their affiliations, Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgments, References, Figures and Tables, and Supplementary Materials, with brief and informative subheadings. The manuscript must include an acknowledgments statement disclosing any AI-assisted technologies used in the research study or in the writing or presentation of the manuscript.
References Research Articles may include about 60 references. References must be cited using numbered citations in square brackets in consecutive order. Use a single reference list for the main text and Supplementary Materials, list all authors by initials and last name except that references with eleven or more authors should list the first ten followed by 'et al.', and include DOIs when available.
Figures & Tables Research Articles may include up to ten figures and/or tables. Initial submission should include figures and tables within the main manuscript file if possible, although authors may alternatively upload separate figure files.

Rapid Reports

Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must be no more than 150 words. Abstract must be short, but no structured or unstructured format is specified.
Manuscript Manuscript must be less than 1,000 words excluding the abstract, materials and methods, and references. Manuscript must be divided into an introduction, a combined results and discussion section, and materials and methods. Manuscript must include an acknowledgment note if AI-assisted technologies were used in the research study or writing or presentation of the manuscript.
References References must number ten or fewer. References must be numbered consecutively in order of first citation, cited in the text with numbers in square brackets, presented in a single reference list including any Supplementary Materials citations, and list all authors by initials and last names except that works with eleven or more authors list the first ten followed by 'et al.'.
Figures & Tables Rapid Reports must include two data elements in any combination of figures or tables. Initial submission should include figures and tables within a single manuscript file, although separate figure files and supplementary files may be uploaded alternatively. All figures and tables must be cited consecutively in the text, and each table must have a descriptive title.
