Original Papers

Cover Letter A cover letter must be submitted. Cover letter must indicate why the manuscript is suitable for publication and disclose any third-party writing or editing assistance or submission made by a non-author on behalf of the authors.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must be 200 words. Abstract structure is not explicitly specified for Original Papers beyond requiring an abstract of 200 words.
Manuscript Manuscript must use subheaded text and include Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion sections, with a Conclusion/Discussion included as part of the subheaded structure. Manuscript must include a maximum of 6 keywords, an abbreviations and acronyms box, a maximum of 5 key messages, an Author Contributions heading, and a Statements and Declarations section with all required subheadings.
References References should ideally not exceed 30. References must use Vancouver style. For fewer than 4 authors list all authors, for more than 4 list the first 3 followed by et al., format entries as title, journal year, volume, and pages, and include web addresses with the month accessed.
Figures & Tables Tables should ideally be submitted in Word and figures should ideally be submitted in PowerPoint. Figures and tables must include legends and keys or abbreviations as appropriate, and figures must be numbered consecutively in the order cited in the text.
