Adipocyte is a peer-reviewed open-access journal dedicated to research on the biology, physiology, and pathophysiology of adipose tissue. It publishes basic, translational, and clinical research on adipocyte development, differentiation, function, metabolic regulation, inflammation, endocrine signaling, dermatology, plastic and reconstructive surgery, and disease relevance including obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and cancer. The journal uses single-anonymized peer review and publishes manuscripts in English.

Abstract An abstract is required for Research Article submissions. The abstract should be 200 words. The abstract must be unstructured. The abstract should describe the method and procedures.
Manuscript There are no word limits for Research Articles. The main text must be structured with Introduction, Patients/Methods/Materials, Results, and Discussion sections, and Research Articles typically also include a Conclusion section. The manuscript must include 5 to 10 keywords, a declaration of interest statement, a funding statement including a no-funding statement if applicable, and a statement disclosing whether and how generative AI was used or stating that it was not used.
References References must follow NLM style. References must be numbered consecutively in order of first mention, cited in the text with bracketed numbers, and listed at the end in numerical order.
Figures & Tables Figures and tables may be placed within the text or submitted as separate documents. Tables must be supplied as editable files.
