Metabolomics publishes current research on the development of technology platforms for metabolomics, including metabolomic applications in pre-clinical and clinical settings, pharmacometabolomics for precision medicine, metabolic profiling and fingerprinting, metabolite target analysis, applications in animals, plants and microbes, and the integration of transcriptomics and proteomics in systems biology. The journal focuses on post-genomics approaches that explore networks and interactions between metabolites, pharmaceuticals, SNPs, proteins, and related big-data-driven emerging technologies.

Original Article

Cover Letter If the manuscript includes a method or protocol, the protocol DOI from Protocols.io must be included in the cover letter. The cover letter must include the DOI for any method or protocol uploaded to Protocols.io.
Abstract A structured abstract is required for Original Articles. The abstract must contain fewer than 250 words. The abstract must be structured under the headings Introduction, Objectives, Methods, Results, and Conclusion. The abstract must use the headings Introduction, Objectives, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
Manuscript Original Article submissions should be 2,500–4,000 words in length. The source does not specify a required full-manuscript section structure for Original Articles beyond the structured abstract. The manuscript must include 4 to 6 keywords, a Conflicts of Interest Statement, an Author Contributions statement, a data availability statement, a disclosure statement, a "Statements and Declarations" section, and documentation of any Large Language Model use in the Methods section or a suitable alternative section.
References References in the text must be cited by name and year in parentheses. The reference list must contain only cited published or accepted works, be alphabetized by the first author's surname, include full DOI links where available, and use italics for journal names and book titles.
Figures & Tables Original Article submissions may include a maximum of 6 figures and tables combined. Figures should be submitted within the body of the text, but large figures may be submitted separately if file size causes upload problems.
