Documenta Ophthalmologica is the official journal of the International Society for Clinical Electrophysiology of Vision and focuses on promoting understanding of the clinical physiology and pathophysiology of the retina and visual pathways. It advocates for the understanding and application of the clinical electrophysiology of vision and publishes basic and clinical science related to visual electrodiagnosis to improve diagnosis and clinical management of patients.

Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must be 150–300 words. Abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript Manuscript must not exceed 6000 words including the abstract. Text may be arranged freely. Manuscript must include 4–6 keywords, an author contribution statement identifying who had the idea for the article, who performed the literature search and data analysis, and who drafted and/or critically revised the work, a disclosure statement, and relevant declarations under a "Declarations" or "Statements and Declarations" section before the reference list, with any non-applicable declaration headings retained and marked "Not applicable," and any LLM use documented in the Methods section or another suitable part of the manuscript.
References Review Articles may include 70–80 references. References must be cited in the text using numbered citations in square brackets. Reference list entries must be numbered consecutively and include only works cited in the text that have been published or accepted for publication, with full DOI links included when available.
Figures & Tables Review Articles may include up to 6 illustrations.
