Experimental Gerontology

Experimental Gerontology is a multidisciplinary journal covering gerontology, geroscience, and geriatrics, with emphasis on immune, endocrine, cellular, subcellular, population-based, epidemiological, and basic aspects of age-related diseases, as well as interventional studies. It also publishes work on functional, motor, cognitive, behavioral, and social implications of aging, including studies bridging mechanistic and clinical aspects of gerontology and biomarker identification and validation. The journal publishes original research, short reports, reviews, and mini-reviews, and excludes clinical case reports.

Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract should be unstructured and able to stand alone.
Manuscript Manuscript should be divided into clearly defined and numbered sections. The manuscript must include 1 to 7 keywords, article highlights of 3 to 5 bullet points submitted as a separate editable file, an acknowledgements section before the references, CRediT author contribution roles, a declarations section before the references including any generative AI use statement, and sufficient detail and references to permit replication.
References References may be in any consistent style or format at submission. References must be consistent and include author names, source title, article or chapter title, year, volume, and article number or pagination where applicable, and every in-text citation must appear in the reference list and vice versa.
Figures & Tables Tables must be placed next to the relevant text or on separate pages at the end of the article, while figures and other artwork must be supplied as separate files. Tables must be editable text with captions and figures must each be cited in the text and accompanied by a caption, and AI-generated images must be disclosed in the relevant figure caption.
