Original Research

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. It must state that the work is original, not previously published or simultaneously submitted elsewhere, has been read and approved by all authors, meets ICMJE conditions, includes explicit ethical approval, and discloses all financial or other declarable relationships and the absence of any such support if none exists.
Abstract An abstract is required. No more than 200 words. Structured. Introduction, Areas covered, and Expert Opinion/Commentary.
Manuscript Original Research articles must include introduction, patients and methods, results, discussion, and conclusions. Include 5-8 keywords, an acknowledgements section, and manuscript statements on ethical approval and informed consent where relevant.
References NLM. References must be numbered consecutively in order of first mention, cited in text with bracketed numbers, formatted with surname and initials, and journal titles abbreviated according to ISO 4.
Figures & Tables A maximum of five figures and five tables is permitted. Additional tables must be included as supplementary material and appear online only. Tables must be editable, figures should be high quality, and results should use tables and figures for clear presentation.

Review

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. The cover letter must state that the work is original and not previously published or simultaneously submitted, that the manuscript has been read and approved by all authors and meets ICMJE conditions, and any financial or other declarable relationships, support, or absence of such disclosures must be stated.
Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract must not exceed 200 words. The abstract must be structured. The abstract must use the headings Introduction, Areas covered, and Expert Opinion/Commentary.

References NLM reference style is required. References must be numbered consecutively in order of first mention, cited in text with bracketed numbers, and formatted with surname and initials, abbreviated journal titles, and no full point after DOI or URL.
Figures & Tables A maximum of five figures and five tables is permitted. Additional tables must be included as supplementary material and appear online only.
