Expert Review of Vaccines is a MEDLINE-indexed, international peer-reviewed journal publishing research on the development, application, and clinical effectiveness of new vaccines. It covers reviews and original articles on vaccines, immune response, immunization, vaccine technologies and platforms, adjuvants, therapeutic vaccines, and vaccination for non-communicable diseases, and uses double-anonymous peer review after editorial suitability assessment. The journal converted to full Open Access from Volume 22 (2023), while previous volumes remain pay to read.

Original Research

Cover Letter A covering letter is required for Original Research submissions. The covering letter must give the corresponding author's full contact details and include statements on originality, all authors' approval and ICMJE compliance, the body granting ethical approval, and any declarable financial or other support relationships.
Abstract A brief structured abstract is required on the second page. The abstract must not exceed 200 words. The abstract must be structured. The abstract must use the headings Background, Research design and methods, Results, and Conclusions, and clinical trial abstracts must also include Trial Registration.
Manuscript The article body must include the sections introduction, patients and methods, results, discussion, and conclusions. The manuscript must include 4–6 keywords in alphabetical order, an author contributions section, an acknowledgements section, and a disclosure form.
References References must use NLM style. References must be full and current, use primary sources where possible, and keep unpublished data or personal communications to a minimum with permission obtained for cited unpublished results or personal communications.
Figures & Tables A maximum of five figures and five tables is permitted. Tables must be editable and figures should be used to present results clearly.
