Article

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. Cover letter must state that the material is original research, has not been previously published or submitted elsewhere while under consideration, include previous reviewer comments if the manuscript was considered by another journal, and include a Conflict of Interest statement.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must be structured and must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the headings Background/Objectives, Subjects/Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Manuscript must not exceed 3,500 words excluding the abstract, references, figures, and tables. Manuscript must contain an introduction, Materials or Subjects and Methods, results, discussion, acknowledgements, Conflict of Interest section, references, figure legends, tables, and figures. Manuscript must include summary information under 'What was known before' and 'What this study adds' with two or three bullet points of one or two short sentences under each heading, plus Author Contribution, Funding, Conflict of Interest, and Data Availability statements, and any use of an LLM must be documented in the Methods section or a suitable alternative section.
References References must follow Vancouver format. References must be cited in the text as numbers starting at one and listed in numerical order, with all authors listed for up to six authors and the first six followed by et al. for more than six authors.
Figures & Tables Articles may include a maximum of 5 tables and figures. Figures must not be embedded within the text and must be uploaded as separate files, and each table must be uploaded as a separate file. Figure legends must appear on a separate manuscript page after the references, and tables must be editable.

Review Article

Cover Letter A cover letter is required and must include originality and exclusive-submission statements, a conflict of interest statement, the corresponding author’s affiliation and contact information, and a brief explanation of the work’s importance and suitability for the journal’s readership. The manuscript must include at least one and up to four unique subject terms, a funding section, a conflict of interest statement under the heading 'Conflict of Interest', a competing interests statement before the references under 'Competing Interests', and documentation of any LLM use in the Methods section or a suitable alternative section.
References The reference list may include a maximum of 100 references. References must follow Vancouver format. References must be cited in the text as numbers starting at one and listed at the end in numerical order, with up to six authors listed in full and more than six shortened to the first six followed by et al.
