Original Articles

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract Abstract is required and must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be structured into four paragraphs. Abstract headings must be Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Manuscript must be up to 4000 words excluding references. Manuscript must include three to five MeSH keywords, a mini-abstract of no more than 30 words, a disclosure statement, and a Declarations section before the references.
References References must follow the U.S. National Library of Medicine style based on Index Medicus. References must be numbered consecutively in order of first mention and list the first six authors followed by et al.
Figures & Tables A maximum of seven figures and tables in total is permitted. Tables must each be placed on a separate page, and figure captions must be included in the manuscript text file rather than in the figure files. Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively in the order of first citation in the text.
