Health reports

Health Reports is a Canadian peer-reviewed journal of population health and health services research published by the Health Analysis and Modelling Division of Statistics Canada. It serves health professionals, researchers, policymakers, and the general public, and publishes original and timely analyses of national or provincial and territorial surveys or administrative databases. New articles are published electronically each month, all articles are indexed in PubMed, and external submissions are welcome.

Research Articles

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract A structured abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words for English submissions or 300 words for French submissions. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the headings Background, Data and methods, Results, and Interpretation.
Manuscript Manuscript must not exceed 3,500 words in English or 4,100 words in French, excluding the abstract, keywords, tables/charts, and references. Text must be divided into Introduction, Data and methods, Results, and Discussion. Manuscript must include 3 to 10 keywords and a "What this paper adds" box with two short paragraphs of bulleted sentences covering what is already known and what the study adds, with the last sentence summarizing implications for future research.
References References are limited to a maximum of 50. References must follow Vancouver style. References must use a superscripted number system.
Figures & Tables Articles may include up to seven tables, up to seven figures, or any combination of tables and figures totaling seven. Tables and figures must be submitted as separate files, with tables in MS Excel and figures in MS Excel or .gif for complex figures such as maps. Tables and figures must include a precise title, the data source, and any required notes.
