Article

Cover Letter Cover letter is required only for submissions to specified focal issues, where it must name the focal issue and include "pangenome" for the pangenome reference focal issue. For specified focal issue submissions, the cover letter must mention the focal issue name and include "pangenome" for the pangenome reference focal issue.
Abstract Abstract is required as a mandatory section of the article. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract structure type is not specified. No mandatory abstract headings are specified.
Manuscript Manuscript must not exceed 6,000 words. Manuscript must contain the sections Abstract, Introduction, Results, Discussion, Materials and methods, Acknowledgments, Contributions, Data availability statement, Conflict of interests, Supplementary information, References, Figure legends, Tables and Figures. Manuscript must include a Conflict of Interest statement.
References Manuscript must not include more than 50 references. When data or software are available from an online source, a full citation must be included in the reference list.
Figures & Tables Manuscript must not include more than 6 figures and more than 6 tables. Figures, figure legends, tables, and table captions should be inserted within the text at the first place they are mentioned. Tables must be numbered and referenced in the text, and figure titles and legends must be included within the manuscript file.
