Submission Instructions

Cell Genomics accepts the following article types. Click on an article type to view submission instructions.

Article

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. The cover letter should explain the prior background, the conceptual advance, the significance and potential impact of the work, and note if the paper is part of a consortium.
Abstract A single-paragraph summary or abstract is required. The summary must be no more than 150 words. The abstract must be unstructured as a single paragraph.
Manuscript The manuscript should be under 8,000 words, excluding the reference list, STAR Methods, and supplemental information. The manuscript requires a resource availability section, must use STAR Methods format for acceptance, and may combine discussion with results as a "results and discussion" section. Up to 10 keywords may be included after the summary, an author contributions section and a declaration of interests section are required, a declaration of generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in the writing process is required only if applicable, and a supplemental information heading listing supplemental files is required when supplemental material is included.
References References must use numbered superscript citations in sequential order of first appearance. Each reference must contain only one article, "et al." should be used only after 10 author names, and only published, in-press, or identified preprint material may appear in the reference list.
Figures & Tables Articles may contain up to 7 display items. For accepted articles, figures or schemes must be uploaded as separate files, while main-text tables must appear at the end of the manuscript after the figure or scheme legends. Figure titles and legends must be provided together in a single figures section in the manuscript, and tables must be numbered consecutively and include a title.
