The International Journal of Gynecological Cancer (IJGC) serves as the primary educational and informational publication on topics related to the detection, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of gynecologic malignancies. The content is intended for gynecologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and research scientists with a special interest in gynecological oncology. IJGC promotes a multidisciplinary approach and features original research, reviews, and video articles. IJGC is the official journal of the International Gynecologic Cancer Society and the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology.

Original Research

Abstract Abstract is required for Original Research articles. Abstract must not exceed 300 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the headings Objective, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
Manuscript Manuscript text must be no more than 3,500 words from Introduction through Conclusions. Manuscript must use the headings Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusions, and the Discussion must include the subsections Summary of Main Results, Results in the Context of Published Literature, Strengths and Weaknesses, and Implications for Practice and Future Research. Manuscript must include 1 to 7 keywords, a KEY MESSAGES section after the abstract with 3 to 5 sentences under the headings What is already known on this topic, What this study adds, and How this study might affect research, practice or policy, and an AI-use declaration in a new section before the references if generative AI was used in manuscript preparation.
References References are limited to 35, except systematic reviews and meta-analyses submitted as Original Research may include up to 50 references. Every reference cited in the text must appear in the reference list and vice versa.
Figures & Tables Original Research articles may include up to 5 tables and/or figures. Figures must be uploaded as separate files, while tables are submitted as editable text. All figures and tables must be cited in the text, numbered consecutively in order of appearance, and include captions.

Manuscript The manuscript must be no more than 5,000 words excluding the abstract and references. The manuscript must be divided into clearly defined sections using headings. The manuscript must include 1 to 7 keywords in English, a declaration of AI tool use in a new section before the references if applicable, and acknowledgements in a separate section directly before the reference list.
