Original Investigation

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. The cover letter must state that the manuscript has been read and approved by all listed co-authors and must disclose any use of artificial intelligence-assisted technologies in the work.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be structured for reports of original data. Abstract for reports of original data must include the headings Purpose, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Manuscript is limited to 3500 words excluding the abstract, acknowledgments, references, tables, and figure captions. Manuscript must be organized in the following order: Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Practical Applications, Conclusions, Acknowledgments, References, figure captions, and tables. The manuscript must include a list of 5 keywords or phrases after the abstract and a Practical Applications section summarizing usefulness for coaches, athletes, and/or researchers while addressing limitations, generalizability, and any needed future research recommendations.
References References are limited to approximately 30. References must follow AMA style. Citations must appear as superscript numerals in the text, and the reference list must be numbered and ordered by first citation with no repeated entries.
Figures & Tables Figures and tables must be submitted as separate files. Each figure and table must be numbered in consecutive order, called out in the text, and accompanied by a brief caption or title defining any abbreviations used.

Brief Review

Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract should be structured with headings. Abstract should include at least the headings Purpose and Conclusions.
Manuscript Brief Reviews are limited to 4500 words. Brief Reviews should include separate Practical Applications and Conclusions sections. Authors who used AI-assisted technologies must disclose how they were used in the manuscript itself.
References Brief Reviews are limited to 50–100 references. References should follow AMA style. In-text citations must use superscript numerals, and references must be numbered in the order first cited with no repeated entries.
Figures & Tables Figures and tables must be uploaded as separate files. Each figure and table must have a brief caption or title, be numbered and cited in consecutive order, and define any abbreviations used within it.

Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be structured for reports of original data. For reports of original data, the abstract must use the headings Purpose, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Manuscript is limited to 1500 words. Manuscript must be ordered as Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Practical Applications, Conclusions, Acknowledgments, References, figure captions, and tables. Manuscript must include 5 keywords or phrases after the abstract that do not repeat the title wording, a Practical Applications section summarizing usefulness for coaches, athletes, and/or researchers, addressing limitations and generalizability, and making future research recommendations where necessary, and must disclose any use of artificial intelligence-assisted technologies in the work itself.
References References are limited to 12. References must follow AMA style. Text citations must use superscript numerals and the reference list must be numbered in the order sources are first cited with no repeated entries.
Figures & Tables Articles are limited to 3 tables or figures. Figures and tables must be uploaded as separate files, and figure captions must be provided on a separate page. Each figure and table must have a brief caption or title defining abbreviations used within it and must be numbered and cited in consecutive numerical order.
