Research Article

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. The cover letter must briefly explain why the paper should be published in International Journal of Stroke and must disclose any third-party writing or editing assistance or submission made on behalf of the authors by a non-author, if applicable.
Abstract A structured abstract is required. The abstract must be no more than 500 words and is included in the 5,000-word main limit. The abstract must be structured. The abstract must use the headings Background, Aims, Methods, Results, Conclusions, and Data access statement.
Manuscript The manuscript must not exceed 5,000 words, including the abstract. The manuscript must be presented with the sections Abstract, Introduction, Aims and/or hypothesis, Methods, Results, Discussion, References, and Data availability. Include three to seven keywords after the abstract, an Author Contributions heading after Acknowledgements if applicable, a Statements and Declarations section with all relevant subheadings and 'Not applicable' where needed, and a Data availability section.
References References must use Sage Vancouver style. Every in-text citation must have a corresponding reference list entry and vice versa, with identical spelling and year in both places.
Figures & Tables Figures, charts, and tables created in Word should be included in the main text, while figures and other files created outside Word should be submitted separately with a placeholder note in the text. Figures must be numbered consecutively in the order cited, and tables and figures must each include a number and title.

Review Article
