JMIR Infodemiology (JI, ISSN 2564-1891) launched in 2021 and is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal focusing on infodemiology, the study of determinants and the distribution of health information and misinformation on the internet and its effect on public and individual health. Areas of interest include information monitoring, eHealth literacy and science literacy, knowledge refinement and quality improvement processes and policies, and the influence of political and commercial interests on effective knowledge translation.

Original Paper

Cover Letter A cover letter must be submitted.
Abstract Original Papers must include an abstract. The abstract must not exceed 450 words. The abstract must be structured. The abstract must use the headings Background, Objective, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Original Papers must use IMRD format and include the sections Title, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgements, Funding Statement, Conflicts of Interest, Data Availability, Author Contributions, Abbreviations, and References, with an optional Multimedia Appendix. The manuscript must declare funding in a separate Funding Statement section, and the Methods and Results sections must use corresponding subheadings when different methods are described and reported.
References References must follow AMA style.

Abstract A full abstract must not be included, but a one-sentence summary must be provided in the abstract field under the heading Abstract. Abstract consists of a single-sentence summary rather than a full structured or unstructured abstract. The abstract field must use the heading Abstract.
Manuscript Manuscript must not exceed 1,000 words. Manuscript must use the main headings Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion. A sentence summarizing the article must be included in the abstract field.
References References must not exceed 10. References must follow AMA style.
Figures & Tables No more than 2 tables or figures are permitted.
