Research Paper

Cover Letter A cover letter is required and must disclose any potential conflicts of interest. The cover letter must include disclosure of any potential conflict of interest.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract should not normally exceed 300 words. Abstract must be unstructured. Abstract must concisely state the methodology used, main results obtained, and conclusions drawn without using section headings.
Manuscript Research Papers should not normally exceed 12,000 words or 14 journal pages. Manuscript should include introduction, method, discussion, and conclusion sections. Keywords must be provided, figures and tables must be included within the text, and any use of generative AI in drafting the manuscript should be disclosed transparently.
References References must follow the IOP Publishing citation style. A single referencing system must be used consistently throughout the article and references must provide enough information to locate the cited work.
Figures & Tables Figures and tables must be included within the text, and Word submissions should where possible also supply figures as separate graphics files. Tables must be numbered serially with concise explanatory captions, and figures must be numbered sequentially with self-contained captions.
