Original Contributions

Cover Letter Cover letter is required. Cover letter must describe the paper's objectives and scientific significance, state whether AI tools were used, confirm all authors approved the submission, and confirm the work is original, unpublished except in abstract form, and not under review elsewhere.
Abstract Abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be structured and included in the main manuscript file. Abstract must use the headings Purpose/Background, Methods/Procedures, Findings/Results, and Implications/Conclusions.
Manuscript Original Contributions have no length limit. Manuscript must be organized into Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussion. Manuscript must include three to five key words or phrases, an AI-use disclosure in the Materials and Methods or similar section, and a conflicts and funding statement under the heading “Conflicts of Interest and Source of Funding:” on the title page.
References References must be cited numerically in order of appearance, and references with more than three authors must list the first three authors followed by et al.
Figures & Tables Figures must be uploaded as separate files and not embedded in the manuscript text file, and all tables must be grouped in a separate file rather than embedded within the manuscript body. Figure legends must be provided on a separate manuscript page, and each table must appear on a separate page with a title, column heads, and explanatory legends including definitions of abbreviations.

Manuscript Brief Reports must not exceed 3,500 words including the abstract, main text, and reference list but excluding the title page. Manuscript must be organized into Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussion. Manuscript must include three to five key words or phrases, disclose how and which AI tools were used in the Materials and Methods or similar section, and include conflicts of interest and funding statements.
References References must be cited by number in order of appearance, and if a reference has more than three authors only the first three should be listed followed by et al.

Abstract Abstracts must not be included for Case Reports. Abstracts are not permitted for Case Reports.
Manuscript Case Reports must not exceed 1,500 words including references but excluding the title page. Case Reports generally use the headings Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussion. The manuscript must include three to five key words or phrases, an in-text consent for publication statement, a conflict of interest statement including none declared if applicable, sources of funding, and disclosure of AI tool use in the Materials and Methods or similar section if used.
References References must be cited in the text by number in the order of appearance, and if a reference has more than three authors only the first three should be listed followed by et al.
Figures & Tables Case Reports may include one table or one figure. The APC for open access is charged on acceptance and should be paid within 30 days. Electronic proofs must be corrected within 24 to 48 hours of receipt. Reprints are normally shipped 6 to 8 weeks after publication of the issue.
