Journal of Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics

Journal of Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics is a comprehensive resource covering all aspects of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and the application of pharmacometrics to drug development and clinical care. It publishes on topics related to pharmacometrics, including population pharmacokinetics, physiologically based pharmacokinetics, systems pharmacology, and machine learning, and includes both theoretical and experimental papers with applications to real-world observations.

Submission Instructions

Journal of Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics accepts the following article types. Click on an article type to view submission instructions.

Original Paper

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract Abstract is required. Abstract must be 150 to 250 words. Abstract must be unstructured within the manuscript order specified for Original Papers.
Manuscript Original Paper submissions must be organized into unnumbered sections in this order: Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Theoretical, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, Acknowledgments, Appendices, References, Tables with legends, Figures with legends, Supplementary Files. Manuscript must include 4 to 6 keywords, a disclosure statement, a Data Availability Statement explaining access to supporting data with links or citations to archived datasets and access terms, a Declarations section before the references, author contribution statements, and documentation of any Large Language Model use in the Methods section or a suitable alternative part of the manuscript.
References References must use numbered citations in square brackets. Reference entries must be numbered consecutively, include only works cited in the text that are published or accepted for publication, and include full DOI links where available.
Figures & Tables Figures should be submitted within the body of the text, with large figures submitted separately only if file size causes upload problems, and the manuscript order for Original Papers places tables with legends and figures with legends after the references. Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals, cited in text in numerical order, and accompanied by legends or concise captions, with figure captions included in the manuscript text file rather than within the figure files.

Review

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract Abstract must be 150 to 250 words.
Manuscript Review articles must include a disclosure statement, a statement of responsibility specifying each author's contribution, and a statement identifying who conceived the article, performed the literature search and data analysis, and drafted and/or critically revised the work.
References Citations must use numbered references in square brackets. Reference list entries must be numbered consecutively and include only works cited in the text that have been published or accepted for publication, with DOIs given as full links when available.
Figures & Tables Figures should be submitted within the body of the text, but large figures may be submitted separately if file size causes upload problems. Tables and figures must be numbered with Arabic numerals, cited in consecutive numerical order, and accompanied by captions, with figure captions included in the manuscript text file rather than in the figure files.
