Original Research Articles

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract An abstract is required for manuscripts in this article type. Abstracts must not exceed 250 words. Unstructured.
Manuscript The Introduction must not exceed 750 words and the Discussion must not exceed 1,500 words. The manuscript should use standard research article sections including an Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgements, and References. A significance statement is required with the abstract, a glossary of field-specific terms must be supplied as a separate list, and abbreviations not standard in the field must be defined on the first page and in the abstract if used there.
References Superscript Arabic numerals in order of appearance. References must be cited in the text in sequence as superscript Arabic numerals.
Figures & Tables Tables and images must be uploaded as editable files or separate files, respectively, and all files including figure captions and tables with title, description, and footnotes must be uploaded. Tables must be editable text and not images, all tables and images must be cited and numbered in order of appearance, artwork must include captions, and results should be presented in figures or tables without duplication in the text.
